Rock Musician. He was a guitarist and singer of the British blues-rock band "Savoy Brown" and the lead singer of the blues-rock band "Foghat". He joined Savoy Brown in 1967, and appeared on five of their albums before leaving the band in 1970 to form Foghat, being joined by fellow Savoy Brown alumni bassist Tony Stevens and drummer Roger Earl. The band achieved great popularity and success in the 1970s, releasing twelve studio albums and one live album between 1971 and 1983. Their 1975 album "Fool for the City" was certified platinum, and their 1977 live album was certified double platinum, and they had popular radio hits such as "I Just Want To Make Love To You", "Slow Ride", and "Fool for the City". The band broke up in 1984 after their popularity had waned, and Dave Peverett spent the rest of the 1980s in his native England. In 1990 he returned to the United States and the original Foghat line up reformed. They recorded and released a studio album in 1993, a live album in 1998, and toured for six more years before the line up once again broke up in 1999. Dave Peverett passed away of kidney cancer on February 2000 at the age of fifty-six.
