U.S. Congressman. He attended the John B. Stetson University, graduated from the law college of the University of Miami, in 1931, was admitted to the bar and proceeded to practice law in Miami, Florida. In 1939, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-sixth Congress and to the next three succeeding Congresses, serving until 1947. An unsuccessful candidate for re-nomination, he resumed practicing law, was elected Circuit Judge of Dade County, Florida, in 1952 and served until his death at age 61.
