US Congressman. A member of the Republican Party, he served Colorado's 3rd Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives from 1985 until 1987. After relocating to Colorado with his family during his childhood, he was raised on a ranch owned by his parents. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University, he went abroad to attend the University of Geneva in Switzerland. Following service with the United States Army during the Korean War, Strang operated a ranch. During his term in Congress, he made himself accessible to the people he represented in his native Colorado. After leaving Washington, he returned to horse and cattle ranching.
