Ovie Carty, age 82, a resident of Old Burning Fork Road, Salyersville, KY., passed away on Sunday Morning September 26, 2010, at his home.
He was born February 4, 1928, the son of the late Edgar and Ruie Penix Carty.
In addition to his parents, one brother preceded Ovie in death.
Ovie was a self-employed welder and a member of Local 472 Carpenter Union in Ashland KY.
Survivors include: his wife, Sue Dell Arnett Carty of Salyersville, KY., one son, Ovie Douglas Carty of Salyersville, KY., one daughter, Sara Lou Carty Castle and husband James Buddy Castle of Salyersville, KY., five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, five brothers, Arnold Carty, Max Carty, Arlen Carty, James Carty and Dorsie Carty all of Salyersville, KY., five sisters, Mollie Jackson, Glenda Sue Minix and Brenda Kay Carty all of Salyersville, KY., Imogene Keeton of Williamstown, KY., and Marlene Hall of Columbus, OH.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010, from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel, with Eskinovah Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Carty Cemetery at Stinson, KY.
