US Congressman. Elected to represent Maryland's 3rd and 4th Districts in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1833 to 1837. He also served as a Member of the Maryland State House of Delegates from 1824 to 1832, 1837 to 1838, and 1852 to 1854, and Member of the Maryland State Senate from 1856 to 1858.
