Painter He was considered the Master of the Human Form. Born in Transylvania in the town of Katona, but he moved to Budapest in 1919. He spent a year in Paris after graduating from art school in Hungary. He was influenced a great deal by the artist Cezanne. While visiting Italy, he was then greatly influenced by the way the figures of the statues were portrayed, which led him to his drawing of the human form. Some of his characteristic works: "Organ Grinder" in 1924, "Working Girl" in 1928, "Szentendre" a copper engraving in 1931, "Landscape with Hills" in 1934, "Self-Portrait" in chalk, in 1949, "Sitting Woman" in 1958, "Church in Szentendre with Cross" in 1962, "Picture Architecture" in 1963, the mosaic design for Szentendre in 1968, the mosaic for the foyer of the National Theatre in 1968, "Blue Mood" in 1972, "Composition in Black and White" in 1981. His works often appear in tapestry and offset printing.
