Professional Football Player. A native of Passaic, New Jersey, he played as a running back for the New Orleans Saints from 1988 to 1991, Chicago Bears from 1993 to 1994, Atlanta Falcons from 1995 to 1996, St. Louis Rams from 1997 to 1998, and the Indianapolis Colts in 1998. Originally selected by the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the 1988 NFL Draft, he was a star player out of the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Heyward died after battling cancer for almost eight years.
