Author. He was born as Gerald Greenberg in Brooklyn, New York. Green is best remembered for his screenplay for the NBC television miniseries "Holocaust" (1978), for which he received an Emmy Award, and as the author of the famous novel "The Last Angry Man", which was filmed in 1959. His other novels include "His Majesty O'Keefe". In 1979, Green received the Dag Hammarskjold International Prize.
