She was the daughter of the late Heath Monroe and Bessie Colson Ogle.

Mrs. Vain had owned and operated Shamrock Liquors on Bel Air Road for 30 years.

She was the wife of Alvin G. Vain and surviving, in addition to him, are sons Michael L. Polk of Sykesville and Leslie D. Polk of Baltimore; brothers Virgil Ogle of Westminster, Cecil Ogle of Finksburg, Clinton Ogle of Middle River, Early Ogle of Jarrettsville and Robert Ogle of Westminster; sisters Alta Lyons of Westminster and Minnie Bozeman of Randallstown; 2 grandchildren; 40 nieces and nephews; 64 great-nieces and nephews; and eight great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by grandson Christopher Michael Polk; and by siblings Walter Ogle, Thelma Edwards, Edna Brooks, Hazel Affeldt and Mary Valvasori.
