He graduated from Anderson County High School in 1984. During his 19 years in the Army, he visited 42 states and 13 different countries. He had redeployed after two weeks of leave following a shrapnel wound to his one of his legs. He was killed near Mahmudiyah, Iraq, when his patrol came under attack.
He was survived by his parents; his three brothers and their spouses; his sister and her spouse; three children; and step-children.
Interment on May 25, 2007.
