This memorial is dedicated to my grandfather, we called him Papo. He lived to be only sixty six years, seven months and twelve days old.
Papo married Adel Oliver on October 26, 1927 in Desoto, Jackson County, Illinois
My papo was a car inspector for the Missouri Pacific railroad Company. He was very lucky to get the job, it was doing the depression and jobs was difficult to find. In 1934 the railroad transferred him to North Little Rock, Arkansas. He would get free passes from the railroad a couple times a year and he would take his family back to Illinois to visit, eventually the railroad stopped the free passes and the trips slowed down as well.
He was much loved and respected by his family and many friends that he had two funerals, one in North Little Rock that even the Mayor sent his condolences and his last in his hometown of Ullin.

I was looking through the pictures again and I found one of Papo with a bunch of big mouth Bass on a stringer in one hand and a fishing pole in the other. I have forgotten how much he loved to fish.

His obituary

Glenard V. Duckworth, 66, North Little Rock., formerly of Perks, died Thursday morning on arrival at the hospital as the result of a heart attack.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, North Little Rock: a retired car inspector for the Missouri Pacific Railroad; and a member of B of RCA, Little Rock.
Survivors are his widow Adel; two daughters, Mrs. Louis Brown, Alameda, Calif; and Mrs. Wanda Watts, Pine Bluff, Ark; a sister Mrs. Frank Dillingham, Cairo, a brother, Howard Duckworth Dongola; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at Owen Funeral Home, North Litttle Rock at 10a.m. Saturday. The body will be brought to Stoner Funeral Home, Ullin, where friends may call after 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jewell W. Norman, minister of the Cairo Church of Christ, will conduct a short service at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral hime. Burial will be in the Ullin Cemetery, with Stoner Funeral Home in charge.
He was preceded in death by three children
