Garin, Diane E. (Sabol) Age 63 of Andover Passed away 10/10/07 Following a courageous six year struggle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert S.; children, Susan Garin-Sofchalk, Heather Ward (Skip), Brother: John Sabol (Kathie); grandchildren, Robert Colucci, Taylor, Spencer, Evan Ward & Samuel Sofchalk; sister-in-law, Joanne Watkins (Miles); nieces, nephews & many good friends. Diane was a 1961 graduate of Robinsdale High School & later graduated from Arizona State University with a B.A. in Education and Library Science and a graduate degree from St. Mary's College. Diane was a librarian in the St. Paul School District for 24 years. Teaching & her love for her students was her passion. She enjoyed reading, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren & pets. She was preceded in death by daughter Gina Marie & her parents, John & Florence Sabol. The family wishes to thank Dr. Harold Londer & Staff of the Humphrey Cancer Center for their dedication & compassion. A special thanks to all who cared for Diane at North Memorial Hospice & Palliative Care Inpatient Unit. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the North Memorial Hospice or the Hubert Humphrey Cancer Center. Please join us in celebrating Diane's life at a Memorial Service taking place at 7PM Monday, October 15th, CHURCH OF ST. STEPHEN, 525 Jackson St., Anoka, 763-421-2471, with visitation starting at 6PM. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
