In memory of General Starling Tucker, who departed this life the 3rd day of January, 1834, in the 64th year of his age. He was beloved in life and mourned in death for private worth and public usefulness as a man and a citizen; the honest representative of his country for twenty-eight years in the Legislature of South Carolina and in the Congress of the United states. His friends in Laurens District have caused this monument to be erected to his memory and worth.
Sacred to the memory of Lavinia Tucker who departed this life July 16th, 1855, in the eighty-sixth year of her age.
