She was the daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Gillece) McGovern. She made her home in Littleton all her life and was a graduate of the Littleton school system.

She was the co-owner of "The Maples" of King Street, which was on of Littleton's first Mobil Gas stations and lunch room. She later worked as a secretary for the Fred C. Church Insurance Co. of Littleton and the Massachusetts Correctional Institute in Concord.

She had been the corresponding secretary for Littletons 250th Anniversary, and was present secretary for the "No Vice Club" of the Cape Cod Chapter. She was also a member of the King's Daughters, Littleton Senior Citizens, Yankee Tole Painters, and the Doll Artisans Guild.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Percy I. Banks of Littleton; four sons, Earl, David, Robert, and John; a brother, Hugh McGovern. She was the sister of the late Jane Blaisdell, Mary Maher, and John McGovern. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
