Beth Ames, 91, returned home on August 6, 2008 at the Heritage Place Care Center in Bountiful, Utah.


She was born Jan. 2, 1917 in Mount Pleasant, Utah to Effie Lucine Rolph and John Adoph Larsen. Beth married Ira Lavar Ames on Jan. 22, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. Beth graduated from Snow College and loved shorthand and secretarial work. She worked for the State of Utah in Fillmore and at the State Capitol, later worked for Bailey's Firestone and Sumner Elementary School and Salt Lake City School District office. Beth served in the Young Women's program, Sunday School, Cub Scouts and Relief Society in the LDS Church. She is now enjoying meeting her father who died when she was only two. Mom loved red roses, any vacation to a beach and family parties. She always wore a home made apron. Beth was a great care-giver both for her mother and her husband.


Preceded in death by her husband and sister, Thelma Winger. Beth is survived by her two sons and wonderful daughters-in-law, Craig L. (Deborah) Ames, and Scott D. (Linda) Ames and her sister, Vanetta Andrews of Richfield, UT. She has eight grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 12 noon at the Bountiful South Stake Center, 1250 South Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. A Viewing will be held from 10:30- 11:45 a.m. prior to services.
Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
