Olympic Games Gold Medalist Athlete. Born in Minnesota, he attended Harvard University and was a star on the Harvard hockey team. In 1960, he was named to the United States Olympic Hockey team, where he played defense at the Winter Olympic games in Squaw Valley, California. He helped the United States team go undefeated in the tournament, and played in the Gold Medal game, which saw the Americans defeat the team from Czechoslovakia 9-4.
