Marie Elizabeth (Hoyt) Miller married Joseph Peter Miller, October 17, 1916 in Adona, Arkansas at St. Elizabeth's church with Father Hoyt performing the ceremony.
Seven children were born to them.

She was the sister of Joe, Louis, Arthur, Anna (Hoyt) Gebhart, Beta (Hoyt) Belte, Matilda (Hoyt) Lachowsky, and Ida (Hoyt) Miller.

This is my Mother-in-law. When we met it was like we had always known each other. We had a wonderful and special relationship.

At least one day a week she spent the whole day with my husband and me. Some days it was just the two of us when I would give her a permanent or shampoo, roll and comb her hair. We would go shopping and when the three of us were together we went out to eat usually on Friday but sometimes it was on Sunday. Such fun times we had.

She loved flowers and had many beautiful potted plants that bloomed profusely. Her yard was covered with lush St. Augustine grass. When my husband and I bought our home we took runners from her grass and planted them at our place. In two years we had a beautiful spread of St. Augustine grass. I think of her every time I look at the grass and the plants that she gave me clippings of to make our yard pretty.

We spent hours having long conversations about many subjects. She would have us over for a great home cooked meal often and I still miss those good meals too.

I called her "Mommie" and that is exactly what she was to me as well as a great friend. I will forever love that precious lady.
