World War II Army Veteran
Corporal Hadley Charles Babbitt was discharged at Fort Dix after serving forty month of service. Twenty five of those were spent in the Air Force at San Antonio Texas as a supply clerk and truck driver. Hadley drove all types of service vehicles, transporting military personnel and equipment.
On going overseas he served seven months as a rifleman in the 76th infantry division.
After the surrender of Germany,he was transferred to the 333rd engineers where he served until being discharged. During this time he transported up to 90 tons of material in Germany, France and Belgium.
He received the "American Campaign Medal", the "European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal" with two "Battle Stars", the "Combat Infantry Badge", the "Good Conduct Medal" and the "World War II Victory Medal",
