Chester B. Cooper, son of Henry Cooper and Bertha Cooper. served his country during World War 11 In the Navy. He served on the USS Tennessee and was at Pearl Harbor during the bombing of the US ships by Japan. He was awarded the Navy Unit of Commendation for outstanding heroism in the action against the Navy by Japanese forces during the peroid of 31 January 1944 to 21 June 1945. He earned 129 Navy Unit Commendations Ribbon Bars for his service. He was a chief Metalsmith in the Navy and later had his own Blacksmithing & Welding Business.
He was the step-father of Dorothy and Mary Esther Purdin.
He was the father of Michael Henry Cooper and the grandfather of Tabatha, Annissa, Kristin and Michael M. Cooper.
He was an avid sportsman and loved nature in every form.
Chester Cooper was laid to rest in the West Union Village Cemetery.
