U.S. Congressman. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, in 1936 and was a teacher of political science at the University of Wisconsin (1936-42). Entering into politics, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-eighth Congress, serving (1943-45). Not a candidate for re-nomination, he was a professor of political science at Occidental College, (1947-49) and a professor of government, University of New Mexico, from 1949 until his death.
