Arka Needham was the daughter of Zollie Coffer Winton and Eliza Jane (Wilson) Winton. She married Tollie Nelson Needham on November 7, 1914 in Fame Oklahoma. They had 3 sons, Hubert, Bill, Tollie Jr. and 2 daughters, Ida and Margaret.

She died of a heart attack while on an over-night fishing trip with her son Hubert, just a few miles from where she was born. She loved taking these fishing trips with her sons.
She was a widow at 39 and never remarried. She raised her 4 children alone. Her 3 sons all graduated from college. She was a strong, independent woman who was also loving and kind.
