Thomas "Tom" Clark, 81, resident of Spencer, died Thursday, September 17, 1998 in Owen County.
Born August 2, 1917 he was the son of Fred and Rhea Edith (Shaeffer) Clark.
He was the Owen County Sheriff from 1963-1970, the Owen County Sanitation Officer, Owen Valley High School Maintenance Officer and a member of the Spencer Nazarene Church.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn (Long) Clark whom he married July 22, 1939; one daughter, Connie and her husband, Jim Sprinkle, of Quincy; one daughter-in-law, Deb Clark of Spencer; one son-in-law, Mike Hill of Kansas City, Missouri; four sisters, Rosie Witham , Ina Conway both of Indianapolis, Helen Ooley of Spencer, and Jane Alexander of Lebanon; one brother, Robert Clark of Spencer; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Hill; one son, Gary Wayne Clark; one sister and six brothers.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 1988 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral home.
Interment was held at New Union Cemetery northwest of Spencer.
