Roman Catholic Archbishop. Clavel Mendez served as Archbishop of Panama from March 3, 1964 until his resignation on December 18, 1968. He received his degree in psychology and was ordained into the priesthood on December 7, 1947. He was consecrated bishop on September 25, 1955 and served as Bishop of David from that year until his ascension to Archbishop in 1964. Following his resignation as Metropolitan Archbishop of Panama, he served as Titular Archbishop of Alexanum until his resignation in 1978.
