Married to actress Dorothy Phillips, the couple formed their own production company with him as the producer/director and her as the leading lady, releasing their films through First National Company. Six months after the release of "Slander the Woman," Holubar fell ill and died of pneumonia while filming what was to be his greatest triumph, “The Human Mill.”
