Ashleigh Elizabeth Roach, 16, died Sunday, October 26, 2003, as a victim to the Paradise fires.. Born May 29, 1987 in Escondido, California, she lived in Valley Center all her life.
She was a student at Valley Center High School. Ashleigh had a passion for Irish dancing that equaled her love for playing piano, as well as being section leader of the pit in the Valley Center High School Band. In her world there were never enough kittens nor enough music. She saw the best in all of us. Her smile and twinkling eyes will be greatly missed. We love you, butterfly kisses. Ashleigh is survived by her parents, Lori and John Roach, brother Jason Roach and sister Allyson Roach, all of Valley Center; grandmothers Ina Cunningham of Hemet and Sandra Swanson of Everett, Washington; great-grandmother Viola Hanson of Everett, Washington; aunts and uncles Bob and Kathy Christensen of Menifee Valley, Jack and Betty Souter of Hemet, Steve and Erin Meissner of Bothell, Washington, Terry and Barbara Hanson of Bellingham, Washington, Patrick and Kathleen Roach of Redmond, Washington; cousins Steven and Kristen Christensen of Menifee Valley, Marti and Kristi Christensen of Menifee Valley, Greg and Jon Meissner of Bothell, Washington, Julianne and Kaitlin Roach of Redmond, Wash., Kelly, Paul and Preston Christensen of Menifee Valley; and numerous friends and loved ones in Valley Center, including her friends and heroes from Station 73 and Station 72 and her friends of the San Diego Irish Community.
