NEW YORK, Oct 17. - Henry E. Abbey, of the theatrical firm of Abbey, Schoeffel & Grau, died early this morning in the Osborne apartments here.
Henry E. Abbey started a line in theatricals that was particularly his own.
He would handle only the greatest attractions.
In the presentation of these performances involving great risk, lavish display, boldness of conception and perseverance, Abbey was unequalled.
To Abbey, Americans are indebted for introducing them to (Sarah) Bernhardt, Henry Irving, Jane Hading, (Jean) Mounet-Sully, (Gabrielle) Rejane, (Herbert) Beerbohm Tree, Josef Hoffmann, (Emma) Calve and many others.
He also managed the last tour of Mary Anderson.
