m. 11/26/1824 to John Evans at Pitcairn Islands.
Children:
John Valentine Mansell Evans (1829- )
William Evans (1830- )
Mary Evans (1833- )
George Francis Mason Evans (1835- )
Dinah Evans (1837- )
Martha Evans (1839- )
When John Evans asked for her hand, he did not meet with much success. Her father did not approve of people marrying too young, and Evans was only 19, and the disparity in their ages was also an obstacle. However, the matter was referred to Rachel for decision, and her answer came quickly, "Try it, Daddy". At length he reconsidered, and they were wedded with a ring formed of the outer circle of a limpet shell.
