Her parents were John Ness (aka: Johannes Jorgensen) & Anna Sigfuson (aka: Anna Sigusdatter). This was her father, Johannes's 2nd marriage. She had 5 siblings: Knut, Jorgen, & Ole Johannssen and Maritha, and Anna Johannedatter. Her 3 brothers were from her father's first marriage to Ingeborg Knudsdatter. She and her sisters were from his second marriage. Her first name (Ingeborg) was for her father's first wife, which was a Norwegian tradition.
