Max Francis, 67, Golden City, died at 4:35 am Saturday at Barton County Memorial Hospital, Lamar, after a short illness.
The Rev. Max Francis was born Sept. 4, 1922 near Winslow(Schaberg) Arkansas. He had lived in the Four-State Area most of his life. He was an ordained minister of the Assembly of God church. He had served as pastor of churches at Winslow Ark. and in Missouri at Noel, Adrian, Lebanon, Frederickstown, Trenton and the past 11 years at Golden City. He had done revival work in several states for five years and served as youth director, assistant presbyter, and presbyter at different times.He was a member of the Golden City Assembly of God in Golden City, the General Council, and the the Southern Missouri District in the Joplin Section of the Assembly of God.
He married Ruth Mary King on Jan 23, 1952, at Rogers, Ark, She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Gary Max Francis and David Gregory Francis, both of Golden City; three brothers Hulen Francis, and Ralph Dexter Francis both of Grove Oklahoma, and Kerwin Kern Francis of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, his twin, Zora Maxine Francis and Janelle Rose Francis Cypret of Tulsa, Oklahoma and one grandson.
