STRATFORD - Mrs. Otto A. (Johanna C.) Gust Sr., 89, of Route 2, Stratford, Town of Cleveland, died at 10:30 a.m. Monday at her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ebenezer United Church of Christ, Town of Cleveland, with the Rev. Robert E. Goessling officiating. Judy Polege will be the organist for congregational singing. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, and Friday until 9 a.m. at SauterKundinger Funeral Home, Stratford, and then at the church from 10 a.m. until. service time. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral chapel. The former Johanna C. Hagen was.born June 5, 1895 in Schofield, a daughter of the late Wilhelm and Emma (Diechmann) Hagen. As an infant she moved with her parents to the Town of Cleveland and received her education in schools there. On Jan. 15, 1919 in Ebenezer United Church of Christ she was married to Otto A. Gust. He survives. They farmed in the Town of Cleveland until retirement and then continued to live there. She was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, the Women's 1 Guild, Stratford Senior Citizens, and a former secretary for the local farmers' union group. Surviving besides her husband are three sons, William of Wausau, Walter of Richland Center and Otto Jr. of Edgar; six daughters, Goldie Stick of Riverdale, Ill., Mrs. Lawrence (Marjorie) Toelle and Mrs. Alvin (Helen) Kratzer, both of Stratford, Joyce Engel of Marshfield. Mrs. Gordon (Phyllis) Knutson of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Paul (Edith) Acbee' of Phoenix, Ariz.; 39 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren ; one step-great-great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Esther Kipp of Stratford, and Ema KrosUg of Marshfield. She was predeceased by a son, Edmund in 1955, four sisters, and five brothers.
