Writer. Born from an illegitimate union between a priest and a servant girl. When his mother married a blacksmith, he adopted the name of his stepfather. By 1838, he had obtained a law degree and worked briefly in public service. He joined the editorial staff at "Freja." Often a bombastic reviewer, one scathing review led to a physical confrontation with Carl Jones Almqvist that almost ended in a duel. In the 1840, he took over his biological father's farm and began to write short stories with themes taken from folk life. In 1843 his play "Positivhataren: lustpel med sang" debuted at the New Theatre and was met with success. In the next seven years, Blanche wrote thirty six new plays that were performed in Stockholm's theatres. His well known comedy" Ett remanded teatersalliskap" was made into a television series in 1977. Nine other stories and plays have also been made into television movies. His novels include: "Den broderade planboken" from 1845 and "Valnaden" in 1847. He was elected as a member of Swedish parliament for six years between 1859 and 1866, and also spent time in the city of Stockholm's second chamber. He died suddenly of a heart attack.
