Theatrical Producer. He was one of the six-man "Theatrical Syndicate" of the early 20th century that controlled most of the theaters and booking of shows throughout most of the United States. Largely through his and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based theatrical producers J. Fred Zimmerman Sr. efforts, the Syndicate held a virtual monopoly over the theatrical industry from 1896 until its hold was broken in the 1920s.
