I first met Gerald back in 1988. We were at the home of a mutual friend.
Gerald killed a squirrel out of a tree out in the yard and after he skinned it he asked me if I wanted the tail, I did, so he cleaned it for me.
Later I decorated the squirrel tail with leather fringe and beadwork and hung it on an eight point buck skull. It's hung there ever since.

I didn't know Gerald very well but, well enough to know I wish I'd known him better.
In the little time we were around each other that time and one other time I could see that he was such a gentle man... easy going and kind.

I know how painful it is to lose a daddy, a good daddy, one that loved and is loved.

My prayer for his loved ones is that our Father will hold them gently in the hollow of His hands as they grieve the loss of one so loved...

...when we lose someone we love, we gain an angel whose name we know...

"For everything there is a season,
and a time for every purpose under Heaven:
a time to be born, a time to die,
a time to plant, a time to uproot,
a time to weep, a time to laugh,
a time to grieve, a time to dance"

The Little Ship ♥¸¸.•*¨*•.. I stood watching as the little ship sailed out to sea. The setting sun tinted his white sails with a golden light, and as he disappeared from sight a voice at my side whispered, "He is gone". But the sea was a narrow one. On the farther shore a little band of friends had gathered to watch and wait in happy expectation. Suddenly they caught sight of the tiny sail and at the very moment when my companion had whispered, "He is gone" a glad shout went up in joyous welcome, "Here he comes!" .•*¨*•.¸¸♥

Don't Cry for me...

If you could only see where I'm at now, you wouldn't cry for me. All of Heavens Angels met me when I arrived and I was met by Jesus with a loving embrace. I walked side by side with old friends and family alike. Don't cry for me because here there is no trace of sickness or sadness only His loving Grace. The beauty is beyond words and nothing I could say would compare. Don't cry for me because I am in a far better place, with streets of gold just like we were told. So please remember don't cry for me but rather rejoice for I can hear angels sing. Oh, how much peace their voices bring.

You can shed tears that I am gone.
Or you can smile because I lived.
You can close your eyes
and pray that I will come back
Or you can open your eyes
and see all that I left.
Your heart can be empty
because you can't see me
Or you can be full
of the love we shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow
and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow
because of yesterday.
You can remember me
and only that I am gone
Or you can cherish my memory
and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what I'd want:
smile,
open your eyes,
love and go on.
