Born in Pantano, AZ on November 15, 1918 to Eusebio and Delfina Carbajal, but grew up and raised her family in Bisbee, AZ, then moved with her second husband, Ysa to California in the late fifties. Resided in Long Beach, CA the last years of her life.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Romero and adored second husband, Ysa Rivera; sons, Frank and Robert; daughters, Mary and Socorro (Sammie); sisters Terrie, Bertha, Rosario(Chayo) and Jessie; brothers, Frank, Arnold, Rudy and Efrain. Survived by daughters, Irene Santisteban, Linda (Gerald) Millican and Paula (Steve) Davis; son, Isaac (Diana) Rivera and son-in-law, Joe Sabato; brother, Joe Carbajal and sister, Delfina Bonney; 23 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 31 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Sukie enjoyed watching sports such as the Yankees, Braves, Lakers and golf; going to casinos, doing lotto scratchers and playing poker. Her choice of beverage was always a long neck bottle of Budweiser which she continued to enjoy up to about 6 months prior to getting ill. Everyone knew her favorite singer was Vicente Fernandez and actor was John Wayne, although in the recent years she enjoyed watching Johnny Depp. Sukie always had an eye for good-looking men.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26 from 5 to 8pm with Rosary at 6:30pm at All Souls Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, September 27 at 11am at All Souls Mortuary, 4400 Cherry Ave, Long Beach, CA Interment to follow at All Souls Cemetery.
