My handsome dad. I think this was one of his passport photos. He had that beautiful full head of hair, and my mom insisted on combing it for him every day. She spoiled him so much! :-) In fact, this must have been a passport photo; I rarely saw him in a jacket and tie!

Mom & Dad (Joseph & Pearl) December 2005. This is one of my favorite photos. Look at the love in their eyes after 67 years of marriage! They still looked that way after 72 years of marriage.

Mom, Dad, David & me in our back yard - 1952. The swing is hanging from our apple tree. My mom still lives in that house in 2013. We moved there in 1948, when I was 3. In fact, David & I rode there in the rumble seat of a friend's car.

The entire Levison family. Front row: my dad (age 3!), grandpa, Uncle Nate (driving). Uncle Jack was standing next to the car. Grandma in the car next to Jack. Everyone else stuffed into the car except Philip, who had already died, and Kay, who wasn't born yet. Photo was taken in 1917, a little before Aunt Kay was born.

Dad's on our left, kneeling on one knee & wearing the dark pants. He owned the J-2 cub with the other guys and used to take us flying all the time. Maybe that's why I became a pilot (among other things!)

Dad at his first fire. I love that dimple!
He loved being a volunteer fireman so much that we had to have a scanner in the house so we always knew what was going on with the police & fire dept. I grew used to the constant static. I kind of miss it now...

From the Stamford Advocate newspaper. My dad was the first to receive the "Fireman of the Year" award. The Springdale Fire Dept was all volunteers. My dad was overweight then; my mom slimmed him down!

1998. I took this photo one time when he was visiting me in VA. I have no idea why he was dressed up. In his later years the only tie he would wear was a bolo tie. We buried him in one, and also wearing a set of suspenders I gave him. He loved those suspenders! But he also always wore a belt. He said you just couldn't take any chances. So we buried him with BOTH the suspenders and a belt.
