I started doing genealogy work in 2004 when my mother Rosanna Lurk Reed
passed away. I got involved with this site when a cousin sent me information on it. I soon found it to be a valuable tool and started adding to it myself.

I am a retired veteran of the Navy Reserve, serving 4 yrs on Active Duty and 16 in the Reserves. I spent 2 yrs in the Philippines where I met my wife of 27 yrs. The other 18 yrs I was assigned to various Carriers from the Saratoga to the Abe Lincoln. My Active Duty Carrier was CVN-69 USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.

I am a 26 yr veteran with the Memphis Police Department and retired in April 2014. During my Uniform Patrol days I was lucky enough to survive 3 gun fights, then again so did the bad guys. Because of my career with the Police Department I got paid as an extra during the filming of "The Client" which was filmed in Memphis. My shot at stardom however was short lived and my part landed on the cutting room floor. I have also been on 3 episodes of "First 48" which is on the A&E Channel. However you have to look fast, I'm only in the first 5 minutes!

I live in Memphis but I research S/E Missouri mainly Ste. Genevieve, Perry, & Bollinger Counties. Maternal lines of Lurk, Trautman, Fallert, Flieg, Winston, Wipfler, and Hoog. Paternal lines of Reed, Koenig, Layton, Moore, Drury, & Stallings, if I can help let me know.
