If I have created a memorial and I am not directly related to that person, I will gladly transfer it to a family member within the fourth generation FAG recommendation. While it gives me great pleasure to place a memorial into the hands of their family, I do reserve the right to not transfer individuals connected to my family.

Please include a separate edit link for each memorial you are requesting transferred, as well as your Find A Grave ID number, it is such a help to not have to search for each individual and it ensures each transfer is correct...assuming the memorial you requested is correct.

Plus, I am having health issues at the moment and my time on the computer is somewhat limited, so please bear that in mind.

Sadly, some older cemeteries have been lost and with that loss has come graves that can no longer be identified. Many other gravestones are eroded by the passage of time and are no longer legible. Other cemeteries have been vandalized and severe storms and tornados have done their damage. These are just a few of the problems that beset our cemeteries, so thanks to all you Find A Gravers who are helping with their preservation.

We can add or correct a number of these omissions by simply logging on to Find A Grave and, as has been so aptly said by others, Paying It Forward.

Regarding transfers, Find A Grave recommends the following:

"...Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren..."

Transfers will be made within these FAG policy guidelines.
