I was born and have lived in Putnam County all my life. My grandfather William Newton Crews came here from St. George, Georgia. My grandmother Mary Knowles Crews was from Putnam County, I believe. My mother's parents, Thomas H. Hilliard and Jessie Johns Hilliard were Putnam County natives. My parents were Enoch and Ethel Hilliard Crews. My maternal great-grandmother, Mary Polly Hilliard Cone's family descended from Lowndes County, GA, to Hamilton County, FL and to Putnam County, FL.

My descendents include, Hilliard, Johns, Wilkinson, Knowles, Green, Crews, Stokes. I am related in some way to most of the original families from Bardin and Bostwick. Many of my Crews relatives are buried in Boones Creek Cemetery, Charlton County, Georgia and around south Georgia.

I have always liked to walk through cemetaries, even if I don't know anyone buried there. I really enjoy touring the online cemetery on Find A Grave. The stories sometimes are so interesting and sometimes so sad. After reading the stories, I feel almost like I knew the person. Thanks to all who have made so many wonderful memorials to their loved ones.
