I'd very much prefer to transfer a memorial to someone who is researching the person listed than make corrections. Even if you are only distantly related or not related at all. If you know more, you are a better person to manage it than I am. (I do keep management of memorials for my own relatives rather than transfer those to well-meaning non-family members.)

Per Find a Grave guidelines, I do not add obituaries to biographies. Please send citation information (e.g., name of publication, publication date, page number, etc.) instead.

For memorials that I manage, I prefer to have searches for the information on the headstone be able to bring up the memorial. For instance, if the stone says Ethel Jones, I will keep the name listed as Ethel Jones. If Ethel's legal name was Gladys Ethel Jones, I will note that in the biography. If the year of birth listed on the marker is 1881, but they were really born in 1878, then I will note 1878 in the bio and put 1881 in the searchable field.

Please use the Suggest any other correction or addition link on the Edit tab of a memorial to request transfer of that memorial.

Feel free to use my photos under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license. That means you can use them without asking me so long as you credit me, you don't sell them, and if you make something based off my photos, you must also let people use *that* on these terms. If you do not include attribution when you use or repost my photos, I will send a take-down notice. I don't ask for much. Please just include it so I don't have to be a bad guy.

I license my photos this way for two reasons. I want people to be able to use them. And I want credit so that down the road if someone has questions (e.g., "Were there any any infant graves nearby?"), they can ultimately track me down. Proper sourcing is vital for quality genealogy.
