I hope that my entries aid you in finding your family! My PRIMARY INTENT is to get the information up from the stones & records for those that haven't found the burial spots of their loved ones and to preserve information from these stones. Please note, many are put up from cemetery records...as is. I'm aware that there are many errors in these records, but I rarely make assumptions as to proper spelling, etc. with the exception of death month which is often based on interment date. Generally speaking, I do not research each memorial.

Any photos I have posted are gifts - free for family or friends to use as you please for non-commercial purposes. I have also assumed responsibility for many memorials from inactive/deceased contributors so just because they've been transferred to me doesn't mean they are my relatives. I would be happy to transfer any of your relative's memorials I have created that are unrelated to me. I'd prefer they be with someone in their family or someone with a connection to complete a more fitting memorial! PLEASE PROVIDE THE MEMORIAL NUMBER AND YOUR CONTRIBUTOR NUMBER. I'm sorry but I will delete requests that do not provide this info. I'm spending way too much time looking everyone up and on the new page - it takes more time. Using the edit button is your best bet!!

I'm human, I make mistakes. If you find some, please use the edit button on the memorial to advise me. Kindness & patience are virtues - I am not retired and have young children, but will address emails as soon as I can. ***I cannot guarantee edits sent to me. I accept edits as long as it doesn't change information at which time I try to confirm the information before accepting.

*~* MY SPECIAL FAMILY FINDS: *~*
After 35+ years of research, I finally found:

My GG-Grandfather Gustave "Gus" Werner in May of 2012 as well as his twin baby girls and 2 more of his baby granddaughters. (thanks to FindAGrave & J F-B)

My GGG-Grandparents Joseph Newby and his wife Letitia Hastie (Dark) Newby in August of 2012 (good old fashioned research).

Another GG-Grandfather William Lewis Horn found March 6, 2013 going through old funeral home records. Cemetery records were destroyed for June 1, 1914 to October, 1920. He died June 15, 1914. Go figure! :)

My GG-Grandmother Jessie Fremont Lane Nelson in January of 2014. (thanks to a FindAGrave friend Mixmastermom)

I'm currently working on photographing & documenting burials in (primarily) 4 of the older Wyandotte County, KS cemeteries. ***Please note - Month is often interment month or death date may be interment date and "NOTE" is often funeral home/interment date. I am also going through old funeral home records in an effort to fill in some blanks in these old cemeteries.

*** Mount Hope - ALL memorials from cemetery records are posted.
*** Quindaro - ALL memorials from cemetery records are posted. (I used a spreadsheet on this one & many duplicates were not caught)
*** Woodlawn - ALL memorials from cemetery records are posted.
*** Oak Grove - ALL memorials from cemetery records are posted. Please note that many of the dates appear to be off a year. Be creative in your searches with spelling as well.

I also do some work in Memorial Park, Highland Park, Chapel Hill, St John's & Mt Calvary & anywhere else in the area that the wind blows me that day. :)

"There are two lasting bequests we can leave our children. One is roots. The other is wings." ~ Hodding Carter

"It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit." ~ Harry S Truman

"A Genealogist must have the patience of Job; the curiosity of a cat; the stubbornness of a mule; the eyesight of an eagle; be blessed with the luck of the Irish and have the ability and stamina of a camel to go long hours without food or drink." ~ The Herald, Vol.18, No. 3 & 4; 1995

"What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well." Unknown

We are the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe.

DEAR ANCESTOR
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
