I have always enjoyed History, and have been researching family genealogy for many years. I find old cemeteries with interesting old monuments especially compelling, as they often tell poignant stories. They make you reflect and remember those who came before.

My primary family lines are HILL, GRAHAM, SLATON/SLAYTON, ROE/ROWE. Secondary lines are BOAZ/BOAZE, BINGHAM and BARKER. These are all Southern lines, most starting in the Carolinas, migrating to TN, GA, AL, LA and eventually TX.

I appreciate the work of so many here at Find-A-Grave, and hope to contribute as much as I can as time permits, including volunteer photos.

I am not a collector of graves. Just about all the sites I manage are family, most close, a few extended. I also take photos of graves I come across in very hard to find places, so I can later check to see if they are on F.A.G. If not, I add them before they are lost forever to the ravages of time. I recently added several for the old historic (and terribly overgrown and hidden) Seay Chapel Cemetery in Talladega Co., AL. There are many, many unidentifiable graves there on the ridge of Cemetery Mountain, and a few still barely legible ones. If you find what you believe to be an error, please send a polite query, and I will explain my information if it differs from yours, or correct something that is truly in error.

Nor am I a grave "Nazi". I do understand there must be rules, but I will never understand those few who would rather hold on to a complete stranger's grave, than allow a relative or close friend who actually knew that person, to manage it.
