Musician. The Swedish-born multi-instrumentalist Ace "Quorthon" Börje Forsberg, considered the father of both (first wave black metal) and (Viking metal) genres, a.k.a. Black Spade, Ace Shoot, and Thomas Forsberg. He formed the black metal band Bathory (when he was only 17 years old) in 16th of March 1983, with, Freddan Hereafter (Fredrick Hanoi) - Bass (1983-1984) and Jonas Åkerlund (Vans McBurger) - Drums (1983-1984). Bathory genre evolved from the rawest form of embryonic or first wave black metal, to thrash, death, and Viking metal. The band's early albums helped give birth to what we know to day as first wave Black Metal, and in 1988 Bathory released "Blood, Fire, Death" which created a new sub-genre in metal "Viking Metal." The first nickname he had, was Black Spade, later he changed it to Ace Shoot, and finally to Quorthon, a name he found on a list of demons. He also had a parallel project called Quorthon, formed in 1993. Börje "Boss" Forsberg, owner of Black Mark Production, is Quorthon's father. In total Bathroy have recorded 12 official studio Full-length albums from (1984-2003). In June 7, 2004 Ace "Quorthon" Börje Forsberg, was found dead in his apartment.
