The Huntsville Times, Monday, December 15, 1969:

A funeral for Carl Rufus Scott, 62, of 126 McCormick Dr., will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Laughlin-Service Funeral Home with Ezra Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Elora Cemetery in Elora, Tenn. Mr. Scott died Sunday at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lois Scott; a son, Arvil Scott of Hammond, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Vance of Bushnell, Fla., Mrs. Madge Batt of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Linda Phillips of Huntsville; five brothers, George Scott, Virgil Scott, and Add Scott, all of Huntsville, Henry Scott of Collinsville, and Homer Scott of Arab; three sisters, Mrs. Nona McCreles of Gadsden, Mrs. Lily Hofstatter of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Rosebell Wright of Belvidere, Tenn.
