August F. "Auggie" Kinsel Jr., 72, of Columbus, died at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon.

Mr. Kinsel retired in 1996 after working 32 years at Cummins Engine Co. He was a member of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and was a former baseball and football coach.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Richard Yeaton officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military rites conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born in Princeton Jan. 16, 1940, Mr. Kinsel was the son of August and Valentine McKay Kinsel. He married Judith A. Wendel Jan. 5, 1962, in Columbus. She preceded him in death Feb. 16, 2010.

Survivors include a son, Michael (Christina) Kinsel of Columbus; daughters, Leisa (Thomas) Neal of Columbus and Teresa Garrity of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda S. Byrd.
