Etta married John N. Ommert on 4 February 1892 in Kosciusko County, Indiana. According to John's obituary, Etta and John moved to Frontier County, Nebraska in March 1892 and resided near Orafino for the remainder of their lives. Their first child, Otto, was born a year after their arrival in Nebraska.
Etta and John Nicholas Ommert had seven children: Otto, Carl, Achsa, Claire, Esther, Lois and Ruth. All of their children, except Otto, are buried in Fairview Cemetery.
In 1909, Etta's niece, Ida Parker Warren (daughter of Etta's brother, Daniel) also moved to Frontier County, Nebraska with her husband and three sons. Ida and her husband, Clarence, are buried in Fairview Cemetery as well.
