She wrote her first song at age 12, formed her first band at 14, and, at 16, she released her first album on an independent label. She also recorded the 1989 song "Where Are You Now," the albums "Say You'll Stay" in 1989, "Let's Make Love" in 1995, "Next To Me" in 1999, and "Oasis of Love," and "Turn Out The Lights," both in 2000. She married Jon Shamir and died from the complication of childbirth the day after their daughter was born.
