Singer. She gained fame as an American singer and a dance musician. Born in New York City, she moved to Florida as an infant and was raised in Miami. She was a member of the dance group "Planet Soul" until 1996. She was best known for her recording of the 1995 dance song "Set U Free," which she recorded under the name of Nadine Renee. The song reached #26 on the Top Forty Billboard, crossing over to the R&B charts before becoming a million-copy international hit. She toured around the world. She wrote her first song at age 12, formed her first band at 14, and, at 16, she released her first album on an independent label. She also recorded the 1989 song "Where Are You Now," the albums "Say You'll Stay" in 1989, "Let's Make Love" in 1995, "Next To Me" in 1999, and "Oasis of Love," and "Turn Out The Lights," both in 2000. She married Jon Shamir and died from the complication of childbirth the day after their daughter was born.
