Matina was born the 4th of eight children. She was born at home in Copperfield, Utah, a small mining town. She married Lawrence J. Findley and they spent most of their lives living in Indiana. Later returning to Salt Lake City and then finally Montana. Like her sister Athena, she too was lost to Cancer.
