Wanda Jean Kendrick, 73 of Church Hill, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born in Gate City, VA, she had lived most of her life in the Mount Carmel/Church Hill area. She had recently lived at The Village at Allendale. Wanda was a member of the Church Hill Senior Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Lee Kendrick, her daughter, Donna Vance; her son, Douglas Kendrick; brother, Glendon Earl Wood; daughter-in-law, Paula Kendrick and granddaughter, Mallory Kendrick.

Wanda is survived by her son, Jeff Kendrick of Mount Carmel; son-in-law, Rick Vance of Church Hill; granddaughters, Lindsey Vance and Savannah Vance; grandson, Garrett Kendrick; sister, Loretta Shaver of Kingsport; step sisters, Patricia Frye of Gate City and Linda Parker of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 1115 Hwy 11W, Church Hill, TN.

A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Roy Tucker officiating. Music will be provided by Linda Tucker.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery (Midway community) Gate City, VA. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m.
