Richard Dana Weiker, Sr. UPTON Richard Dana Weiker, Sr., age 77, a native of Medfield and resident of Upton since 1981, died on Sunday afternoon, March 22, 2009, at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Northbridge. Born in Framingham on December 4, 1931, he was a son of the late Dana and Irene (Taylor) Weiker. Mr. Weiker was raised and educated in Medfield and was a member of the Medfield High School Class of 1949. He joined the US Navy the following year and served as a machinists mate during the Korean War. Mr. Weiker owned and operated Richard Weiker Grader Service in Medfield until his 2004 retirement. A devoted family man, he enjoyed spending time at his home in Edgewater, Florida, and was an enthusiastic camper and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Marion E. (Barnes) Weiker, a son, Richard D. Weiker, Jr. and wife Christine of Millville, two daughters, Lorraine L. Watson and husband Robert and Brenda A. Weiker all of Upton, four sisters, Roberta Lang and Marcia Donnelly both of Branford, CT, Janice Gamache of Winchester, NH, and Jeanne Polio of East Haven, CT, a step-brother, David Owens of Florida, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and 24 nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Judy LaBanca and step-brother of the late Robert Owens. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 25th at 12:15p.m. at Vine Lake Cemetery, 625 Main Street (Rte. 109), Medfield.
