Frank Purtlebaugh, 89, a native of this county, died at 7 o'clock this morning at the Shady Lane Sanitarium, near the city. The body has been taken to the Flanigan, Reed and Hull funeral home where the casket will be open to friends Tuesday evening.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 10 o'clock Thursday morning with burial to be made at Garland Brook cemetery. Mr. Purtlebaugh had resided at the Shady Lane Nursing home since March, 1946 and his condition had not been considered as too serious, death coming rather unexpectedly.

He was born in Harrison township and had spent his entire life in this county. Purtlebaugh never married and had lived with a sister, west of South Bethany before going to the nursing home. He had been at nursing homes intermittently since March, 1945. He had been a farmer all his life, nearly all of which had been spent in Bartholomew county.
